Twittering Tips For Beginners in Business

You might have heard about the new social networking program, Twitter. Right now, it’s incredibly popular. Every minute, every day, millions of new people are joining up with Twitter, and more join up daily. Twitter can be an excellent tool for you to market your business. You’ll need to understand a few things about Twitter before you can start to use it to benefit your business effectively. Read on for a handful of great twittering tips for beginners that your business can use.

Before anything else, your first twittering tips for beginners is that you should fill out your business’ Twitter profile completely. Use this space to put as much important information out there as you can. This way, your Twitter account can act as an informational gateway all about your business. Make sure that your Twitter profile has a visible link to the website for your business.

In many cases, a link to your blog will be more effective than a link to your business website, as people are more likely to be interested in seeing what’s going on in a blog.

The second most crucial twittering tip is to try and gather as many followers as you possibly can. To do this, get your Twitter name out there – in the signature line at the end of your e-mails, on your social networking profiles, and even on your business cards. It’s also advisable to follow anyone who has an interest in your particular niche. Go to search.twitter.com and browse around for anyone who might be into what you’re selling. When you follow someone on Twitter, they’ll usually reciprocate and follow you in return. Make the effort to click ‘follow’ on just a few people each day, and soon, you’ll have hundreds of people who are following you in return.

You should also try to make your Twitter page as personalized as you can.

Not only will this make you appear unique and stand out from the general Twitter crowd, but it will make your brand look unique. Add a special, eye-catching background to your page and even add a small logo, or a personal picture, as your Twiter icon.

Finally, when you send out messages with Twitter, make them valuable and rich with content. Educate people with your Tweets. Make people laugh! Your Twitter usage can be funny and educational at the same time. Don’t fill up your Twitter with lots of dull messages. And of course, you should never attempt to make direct sales with your Twitter page. If people feel like they’re being sold to, they’ll unfollow you in a heartbeat.

Hopefully, you’ll use these excellent twittering tips for beginners in your own business venture. To recap: fill in your Twitter profile completely, interact with those Twitterers who are into your niche, personalize your Twitter page to reflect your business, and when you send out messages, make them important and interesting. If you can do all of these things with your Twitter account, you’ll find great marketing successes.

A Beginners Guide to SEO

What is Search Engine Optimisation?

Search Engine Optimisation or SEO, in simple terms is a set of methodologies used to get websites higher up the search engines in the unpaid search results also known as the organic search results.  Common sense suggests that the further up your website is up the search engines, the more visitors you will receive, the more visitors your receive, the greater your profits.

Why is SEO needed these days?

These days the internet is so competitive.  If customers looking for products and services find what they need from the top few positions on the search engines, they won’t go past the first pages.   The main aim of SEO is to get your website as high up the search engines as possible.  Why? I hear you ask, well I don’t know about you but I don’t often go beyond the first page when I’m looking for something on the internet, and I hardly ever go beyond the second page.  I tend to find what I need Ii from the first few websites don’t you?

Well if that’s the case for everyone, there’s no point having a website at all if its not at least on the first pages of the search engines.

One thing you must remember however, which many folk seem to forget [stupid really!] is to make sure you get found for terms people actually search for!  There’s no benefit being at the top of Google for a keyword no one searches for at all.  It might look good for a bit of self gratification, but is it really going to make you any money?

What types of SEO are there?

There are two main types of search engine optimisation; local SEO and national SEO.  Local SEO is where a business targets search terms with a location attached to them such as Accountants in London, Accountant s in Surrey etc.  These people tend to be local people, live nearby and have a local or regional target market.  If I was a window cleaner in London, I wouldn’t want to target people looking for window cleaners in Edinburgh now would I?

National SEO however is where a business aims to get their website found for search terms without locations such as ‘football boots’ or ‘work gloves’.  This tends to be the case when the location of a potential consumer doesn’t matter.  If I was looking to purchase a pair of football boots online, I just want to know who is the cheapest and how long will it take to get them delivered, so long as they were based in UK somewhere, I wouldn’t be bothered.

How much does SEO cost?

The cost of SEO can vary immensely.  Every single SEO campaign is unique so every price or cost for SEO should be too. The amount of time effort and budget required for an SEO project is usually determined by several factor, here are just a few things to think about:

1.       What keywords that you are targeting?

2.       How competitive are your chosen keywords?

3.       How much time and effort have your competitors spent on SEO?

4.       IS your website SEO friendly?

5.       How much budget do I actually have?

One thing to be sure about, SEO can be a real tricky and complex subject so if you don’t know what you are doing when it comes to SEO, I’d suggest you call the SEO Experts.

Four Powerful Twitter Tips For Beginners

When I first heard about twitter I was a bit sceptical. I guess I just didn’t see how extraordinarily powerful this site really was until recently. My friend RJ Pepino had built a twitter following of 21,000 in just a few months and was having people join him in his business opportunity everyday! All of these leads where free. If you’re looking to create some passive income online, build a home base business that runs on automation and build your own list of followers, you have to be on Twitter. So I put together a Beginners guide for you to generating Leads on Twitter: 1. Twitter- Create a free Twitter account if you haven’t already done so. Don’t be shy when creating your bio, be yourself, remember you are creating relationships and connecting with people. 2. Twitbacks-Customize your Twitter background with Twitbacks. You want to stand out from the crowd. 3. Social Oomph- Make sure you use Social Oomph and create a free account. This will allow you to send automated welcome messages, aka DM’s to new followers and create settings that will automatically follow those who follow you or un follow those who do not follow you. 4. livelybrowser- Purchase the Twitter Friend Adder for $50. This is optional, but highly recommended. You can automatically add Twitter friends with this tool running in the background. It is recommended you do not add more than 100-200 friends per day or twitter will suspend your account. You can also un follow those who don’t follow you, which is recommended every 24-48hrs after adding. This is extremely handy when doing followings of 100 or more people per day, which you will need to do to build a list fast and automation, is the way to go! If you’re on a budget, just add friends manually by finding others in your same niche but that is very time consuming. If you follow my four powerful Twitter tips you will see a great improvement in your Twitter experience.
